When a string of brutal killings strikes civil rights leaders in 1960s Mississippi, the FBI sends in one of its few Black agents (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) to investigate.

Local law enforcement won’t help, witnesses are too terrified to talk, and the Bureau’s usual methods hit a wall.

So the FBI makes a shocking call and brings in the mob, in the form of notorious mafia hitman Greg Scarpa (Mark Wahlberg).

Divided by race, background and morality, the two men are pulled into a deadly hunt where the line between justice and vengeance starts to blur. It’s a gritty period crime thriller inspired by true events, and the real Scarpa was a long-time FBI informant whose rumoured role in Mississippi civil rights cases has fuelled decades of speculation.
